I responded to an online survey sent by Amazon.com and was subsequently invited to a research session in the company offices. The participants were each seated at an individaul computer station with an Amazon staff person who guided them through a series of screens designed to enhance individual satisfaction with online interaction. The staff person asked questions as the participants responded to various screens. A session similar to this might be very useful as a prelude to the group discussion or might take its place. I think it is important for the focus group participants have enough relevant experince with the testbed to be able to have a lively and informative discussion. |
