Dear AMICO Users Ctte:

Finding ways to ensure that the AMICO Library meets user needs is one of our prime challenges. I'd like to build our understanding of the use of the Library -- across University Testbed Participants -- by conducting an online survey of all Testbed users.

We'll work collaboratively with the Cornell Interactive Media Group, an academic research unit experienced in user evaluation (they did the evaluation for the MESL project). We'll design the survey together; RLG will link it to their delivery of the Library; Cornell will collate and report on the results, in collaboration with AMICO.

I've elected to pursue this with an outside group because they have much more experience in this kind of evaluation, and have tools and technology available to do this quickly and economically. Cornell also brings us an added level of recognition within the academic community.
