Would you define "Measurement - Text" and explain how it differs from the other required "Measurement - Dimension" fields. Is "Measurement - Qualifier" the same as "Measurement - Text"? I assume that "Creation - Date - Text" is for recording a text-based span of time, such as Late Minoan. If that is the case, is it still necessary to record "start" and "end" dates as well, which are listed as required fields? Assigning start and end dates to periods could cause endless scholarly nitpicking... and yet I assume that numerical dates are needed to satisfy search queries by date. Can you clarify? My last question - if "Object - Type" and "Classification - Term" are both linked to AAT, is there an expectation that the user will understand the difference between these fields? There will be enormous variation in the classification terms used by AMICO members, reflecting the varied nature of collections among members. It may be that the data in a classification system will begin to look like the data in "Object - Type" Do we need both categories? |
