In the straw poll, Steve Dietz noted that he "doesnât know what the Carnegie declared". The point of this clause is to avoid a question of what is included or excluded from a universitiesâ community or what size its faculty or student body is by using a measure the university has produced for another purpose (accreditation and rankings in the world of higher education). It really doesnât matter what external measure is used, just that it be the way the universities define themselves for another purpose. David
