The more that I think about this the more that I wonder how much of this is ascribable to fear of the unknown on the part of artists. Or, if not the unknown, fear of the rumored. While I agree that we need to move forward in the directions you indicate, I also think that some artists won't be convinced by a flock (are we a flock or a gaggle?) of museum people. Once AMICO is up and running it will be easier to demonstrate - and I think a demonstration is worth much more than our verbal and written attempts to convince. And once AMICO has a track record, there will be success stories and - hopefully - few abuse stories floating around. Artists (and their dealers) eventually may well be the best voices for AMICO - artists who have been included and who have liked the process - or who will at least attest to the fact that nothing went wrong.
