Each work in the AMICO Library can have a copyright statement associated with it. This is entered in the Object Rights Statement ORS field. The Distributor Specification requires that this statement be available whenever the work is displayed. In the RLG implementation it is: - Displayed with the Brief text in the thumbnail display - Shown in full on the full record display -- in the section about ownership (Copyright information about the photographic/digital image is displayed below the image) - displayed in the full image display -- below the image, along with any other Credit Line -- along with other copyright information about the digital images. The Rights link in all of these displays shows the "licensed for non-commercial educational use" phrase, along with "would you like to see rights information from the contributor?" Yes to this question opens a new window with the AMICO Members rights page (as specified in the Rights Link ORL) field of the catalog record. So, after that long answer, the short answer to Jennifer Small's question about displaying a Rights Statement with a work, is to include any such text (ONLY text) in the ORL field for the work. Clear (as mud, right... like all other rights-stuff). Goodnight! jennifer |
