This is not a suggestion for a clause, but simply (!) a suggestion from Paul Niebuhr, our Director of IS. Paul wondered if there are any economies of scale that could be recognized by having AMICO begin producing the images. He suggested an investment in a mobile imaging lab that could travel to different institutions to collection the required image sets. For an investment of, say, $.5MM, an imaging RV could be created that "cruised for images." He also suggested development of a base CMS that is extensible as each institution needs it. Further, he mentioned that the NYPL might be willing to host the data and offer "care and feeding" of it; the cost might simply be access for the patrons on site. |
