Dear AMICOs, The following message from the University Testbed Discussion seemed of broad interest. Any thoughts about how we could address some of these suggestions? jt Newsgroups: /HyperNews/get/testbed/gen.html Date: Mon, 22 Feb 1999 11:09:11 -0600 (CST) From: Karen Croneis <Karen-Croneis@library.wustl.edu> To: Jennifer Trant <jtrant@amico.org> cc: webmaster@amn.org Subject: Re: Question: AMICO Library Content Development MIME-Version: 1.0 The question regarding the content of the AMICO Library sparked a series of long and lively discussions among members of the Washington University project team. The following emerged as specific areas in need of content development based on class evaluations by students, discussions with faculty, and the experiences of members of the project team: - A more significant body of sculpture images, including several views of each piece. - Basic works (e.g., Greek and Roman art) essential to the teaching of introductory Art History. - Additional objects of "popular culture," particularly cartoons, advertisements, historical documents, film stills, etc - Additional images of contemporary art, including sound and motion and contemporary photography. - Graphic communication arts such as book design, typography, posters and other advertising. - Historical and contemporary ceramics and costume. - Furniture. - Building photography. - Historical city maps.
