Dear AMICOs, I've a question about when we update the public Thumbnail catalog with the contributions to the 1999 edition of the AMICO Library. There are two options: A. We release the works as they come in. This has the added benefit of allowing the catalog to grow as contributions come in, and makes info about what is in the Library next year available most quickly. However, it might be confusing to people to have the catalog grow organically. OR B. Release the works on a specific date (May 1?) We would hold release of all new contributions until they are delivered to the distributor. Then the Thumbnail catalog would be updated to reflect the 1999 Library, as it would be available on July 1 for subscribers. Holding back on the resease of data might mean a more easily understood 1999 edition. Which is more preferable to YOU? PLEASE NOTE: we still don't have 1999 contributions from some of you. These are now overdue; we must get these in soon, in order to ensure we can validate these records and deliver them to our distributors in time for the July 1 release. (Our commitment is to ship validated data to RLG on APRIL 30. Data that doesn't validate at that time, will NOT BE INCLUDED in the 1999 edition of the Library. I'm going to be contacting everyone individually to check on your progress later this week.) Thanks for your thoughts on releasing the Thumbnails. jennifer |
