Jennifer and I met Wednesday morning with staff of the Getty Information Institute (Eleanor Fink, Joseph Busch, Pat Young, Murtha Baca and others) around the question of how the GII could add value to AMICO data and how AMICO could augment the GII vocabularies. GII agreed to receive AMICO data, parse it to match against the AAT, ULAN and TGN, and return information about exact matches to AMICO. For matches that are not exact, GII will add terms to appropriate authority files, in some cases after learning more from the AMICO contributor. Joseph Busch will get back to us with a detailed plan by November 15, at which time we will discuss it with the committee.
