RLG will provide the TIFF images to a technical contact at each Testbed institution (in the form of an HTML page of thumbnails and tombstone text, with FTP links for the TIFF files) on a weekly cycle."
RIT's question: I have a test user who ordered TIFFs be sent to me (the RIT contact) on Thurs., Aug. 27th. When is the HTML page coming and where is it?

TIFF images, image metadata, and cataloging data will be distributed on 2 DLT tapes, at a price that recovers the cost (somewhere in the $250 neighborhood)."
RIT's questions: Will the cataloging data be in MARC record format? If yes, are you mapping to the VRA Core? If it is MARC and includes links to the TIFF's, can we see a sample somewhere online so we can see what the record and links look like? Are the links to the TIFF image files in the form of 856 tags? If so, what location does the url go to? The TIFF file's image location at RLG? Or is it simply listing the local TIFF file's location/name assuming that you've loaded the TIFF file locally? Can we get the TIFF images, the image metadata, and cataloging data separately or do we have to get all 3 or a combo of the 3? We may just want the cataloging data without the TIFF's or image metadata. What format is the image metadata in? Dublin Core? Thanks, Michael Robertson, RIT |
