Michael's last questions about the Distributors Specification address the terms under which a University Subscriber can mount portions of the database locally, e.g. in an electronic reserve room:
5. Suggested introduction to 2.1: "Except when the 'Local Mounting' referred to in 9.2 of the AMICO Library University Agreement is solely of a small portion of the Library (for "course reserve") ...." Agreed.
7. Will our side-by-side display of images solely within the classroom in which courses are being taught, satisfy the
requirements of 3.2.1. ("Distributors must provide facilities that permit two images to be compared.")?
For the testbed, yes; in the longer term, we feel you users will ask for this, so we won't have to specify it. It's there mostly because many distributors are used to working only with text, and are surprised by this, fairly basic requirement from art history faculty. jt |
