Activities
Report: September 1998
During
September 1998, I continued to provide counseling regarding the execution
of the AMICO Full Membership, Museum, and University Agreements. I worked
closely with Jennifer Trant and David Bearman to provide answers, clarify
terms, and resolve a number of legal issues in connection with the signing
of these important agreements. All AMICO Full Membership Agreements
save one have now been signed. I provided counseling regarding AMICO's
application for recognition of tax-exempt status, which is pending before
the Internal Revenue Service. I reviewed the terms and conditions of
AMICO's Directors' & Officers' Liability Insurance Policy (with
the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies) and made recommendations regarding
the same to the Executive Committee of the AMICO Board at its September
meeting. I represented AMICO at the first full meeting of the Museum
Attorney's Group (MAG), an informal working group of museum counsel,
where I delivered an update on AMICO activities.
